Senior management can make or break any team. Store by store run very differently but you get the same people in different places. Store manager interviews for the store manager in training are the only presentation style interviews I've heard of. There are panel interviews with 3-5 store managers for programs like assistant store manager in training, but everything else is 1 on 1. The interviews vary drastically depending on the store manager. I interviewed for assistant store manager 9x and always had hour+ interviews. Typically the hardest question is "name a time you had a difference of opinion with staff and how you dealt with it". Have 1 ready for that at any management level. 

The managers are pretty nice and understanding most of the time but are inconsistent with their write ups/punishments.

All employees are part time so you aren't guaranteed many hours and a lot of the hours to go to the older workers even if they just started. But the shifts are pretty flexible at least.

They've cut on hours in the last few months so we are short staffed any other time unless its a holiday which can be stressful.  

The customers tend to be rude at this location, likely because we are in the middle of nowhere but they are the main stresser of this job in all honesty.

As a manager hours where cut from staff and you had to follow head office an how many hours used . Staff stressed same expectations with less time to finish tasks

As long as you stay on the Cash Supervisor's good side it's not a bad place to work, don't and suddenly your schedule is only the days you're unable to work which is hard as a student.

Very much a 'If you have time to lean you have time to clean' workplace even if you are on their good side. If you show up, do your job, and go home it's not so bad... but I recommend being a cashier elsewhere unless you want to eventually become management.

A fair place to start in the working world and learn many simple workplace practices. Teaches how to interact with fellow workers, how to deal with members of the public, how to mange stock and sort. Just don't get too comfortable because there is always some sort of drama with management and plenty of time off disputes. Oh and the union rep didn't have my back so keep that in mind! 

The people that you work with are mostly nice, there’s a lot of older employees that have been there for 50 or so years that are very set in their ways. The pay is garbage for what you have to do. Also the washrooms are always filthy or they are backing up sewage. I was scared to go into the employee washroom because you never knew what you were going to find. 

Zhers is a fun place to work. Only one real downside, and that is there is a lot of gossip that goes on there. Management is good, but they need to take action when someone complains about the gossiping. Pay was fair, and raises were at the same amount of hours, and same amount for everyone.
