Job Work/Life Balance - 20% of the employees do 80% of the work. If you are one of the 20%, you are rarely thanked let alone rewarded. 60+ hour weeks are not uncommon. 

Salary / Benefits - old pension is gone which was a huge motivator for employees to endure this place. Salary is below market average. Regardless, you will earn every penny.

Job Security/Advancement -company is notorious for restructure and lay-offs almost annually.  They prefer appointing external management over promoting from within.

Management - some good, some bad. The good ones are at the mercy of an erratic and ever-changing corporate strategy.

Job Culture - majority of staff is miserable and over-worked.  There are fundraising and pizza-day events every once in a while. Morale has been so low for so long that it's somewhat trite, but the gesture is nice nonetheless.

Management does a poor job in job continuity and team management.  As employees leave others are directed to pick up the work with little to no knowledge transfer.  Most 0wople are working overtime and are not encouraged to collaborate. It's very individualistic culture where you need to pretty much learn on your own. The pay is good if you like being a robot and working non stop and pay your time. The manager on the team I was on himself was working weekends and 15 hour days.  On top of this the benefits are archaic...and does not provide decent mental health coverage or paramedical expenses. They give a few hundred for exercise budget. 

I love Zurich I’ve been there for almost a year now and I am very thankful I was approved for this job. I worked in some very toxic environments previously and I can say that Zurich cares for their employees. It feels like you’re not really working but you are with family.. every day they appreciate you and help you, they are a very great team ! The management is caring understanding, and they will go above and beyond to make sure that you are satisfied every day. Highly recommend this place! great pay, great hours and great benefits! 

It’s a great place to start one’s career since its salaries and benefits are competitive for entry-level positions. However, people may have to leave elsewhere to seek higher salaries after working in Zurich for some time since salary increases are not matched with inflation / costs of living. Overall, people are friendly and understanding—good place to start a career.

Flexibility with work environment.

Lack of proper training in various areas. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Average more or less.  Again a lack of structure around training and various people chiming in at times.  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy and Flexible.  Again,  any training would have assisted in the process a lot.

Zurich likes to hire slowly and fire quickly no one is safe my time there I have seen UAs, UWs, Executive Assistants and Executives terminated whether they worked for 2 months or 30 years. A manager with less than a year of experience is able to terminate a longer tenured employee. Zurich does not value their employees. If you care about your career, I would look elsewhere. HR is not going to help you.

Zurich helped me to not only be a good team player but also grow as a team leader and improve my leadership skills by leading a team of five to six members. Due to my outstanding multitasking abilities I was given the opportunity to work directly with the client in England and this helped me a lot to understand the business perspectives .

I was welcomed as a part of the team from day one, and the supportive environment amongst my co-workers has not changed. The management is excellent and does not micro-manage. Finally, I am given a chance to make decisions and supported when I am right and effectively coached on how to make better decisions if I should happen to make an error. I would recommend working for Zurich as I am happy to be here!

Zurich has a strong balance sheet and a well-balanced portfolio of business — geographically and by line of business. Zurich consistently maintains strong financial ratings.When customers and brokers select an insurer, they need to know the company will be around and in a position to pay claims this year, next year and in the years to come

Productive, Technological advanced and employee friendly work place. The management team is very focused and keeps everybody informed of companies progress every quarter. They also provide excellent feedback to each employee on improvements. Future roadmap of the company and alignment with company vision and mission is shared periodically.
