Started working at dormakaba with the greatest of intentions. I was told that they wanted to advance the company, that it had been stagnant for several years to the point where they were embarrassed - and that it was time for change.

So going in, I had good thoughts about what was going to happen next.

What happened..  was the lack of people working together and a silo mentality, pettiness between staff and people just doing what their job was and not much more.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people  there They are friendly  It is a nice team

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Sometimes I throw a lot of stuff  On your shoulders, expecting that you know how to do it.
It's a total different Skill set

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment is like any other work environment  Culture filipino lock warehouse

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Crazy overwhelming Stress ful But nothing i'm not used to

If you are looking for temp job to make some money it's the right place.
Don't expect to have any kind of respect, career path, or fun environment.
It's not a place where you will grow your career, on the contrary, I've seen developers taken by the ego and fake titles,they go to the market after two years and surprise surprise ... refactoring a big ball of mud "supervised" by QA monkey tester and Jenkins script kiddies won't get you to a better career path, it's a total failure, numbers don't lie.

If you need a job for living!!! that is the job you have dreamt about. Be  aware of all managers, you can be easily screwed up. Non-friendly environment, no possibility for advancement. Relativily well paid, if you are accepted, be careful not to lose your job after... Overall, it was a disgusting experience... the company, the experience... If somebody can contest my writings, please do so... I wish this will be usefull for future people that want to apply at this company!!!... regards

Turnover of employees at record levels. Montreal division stripped of all talent and all logical direction. Is being run by puppets who have only their selfish interests in mind. Do not expect this division to last very long before it is shipped off to Mexico as per their obvious intentions.

Where do I start oh yes the people - simply magical. Not as magical as Oracle but very magical = I have seen magic but this place is somewhat less magical but still pretty magical. If I had to say how magical I would say fairly magical. It appears that magic has become used magically in every sentence but I almost want to think of something more magical than magical such as Magic Land. Yes, magical.

You couldn't ask for nicer people.  But the manager belonged in an insane asylum.  They discriminate against women and when you complain, they try to fire you.  Global only cares about grooming the executives for their work and don't care at all about employees.  Also, the building is a health hazard.  They don't care about the laws for French.  Avoid.

The company consolidated our production to Montreal, even though we met efficiency  and were the most profitable unit.  They had 6 months to move and left it to the last 2 months. The move was complicated by it being done on the cheap. The workstations were moved as one unit as employees found work with other companies. Our direct managers cared for us.

Poor management in the purchasing department. The person in charge has no understanding of the processes and the electronic manufacturing environment. That leads to poor support, more work and more stress to the team. Due to the manager's behavior, employees have left as they did not want to deal with the manager anymore.

Every department does not take ownership or anything they do.  Every job is always done in a rush and there is zero accountability.   Management will praise one thing however the opposite actually happens as there is never any time to focus on the needed improvements.
