I would avoid this place as much as possible. There are very few positive things to say about this place. The management treats their staff very poorly. They will say you are hired for a full-time position and you will work 25-30 hours if you are lucky. The supervisors get 30-40 hours. They will say that winter is a slow time and it will pick up in the summer, but they hire extra part-time staff so the hours barely change. Management is extremely micromanaging and they watch their staff on camera, without notifying staff in orientation. Usually only the supervisors know that there are cameras. Breaks will most times be interrupted by the supervisor telling you something that was missed in your opening duties and even by management too. This is a violation of the Ontario Labour Board Laws. Most of those things could be discussed after the unpaid 30 minute break is finished. During your break you are only allowed to sit at the tables without a plug to charge your phone and if you do sit at the tables to plug your phone in the supervisor will tell you to move due to Freshii policy even if there are no customers in the store. They also do not want you to plug your phone in the back area. There is also insufficient space for belongings. Employees are also not allowed to use any gloves for garbage out front (has customers forks and bowls in it), which is very unsanitary. Both management and supervisors gossip about staff members. Many things seemed questionable with the Ontario Labour Board Laws or they go as close to the border of it as they can. The few positives about the workplace was the good food, customers and fellow team members. It was a breath of "fresh" air when I left this place. The only thing I miss is the nice friendly regular customers that came in. It is definitely not the fun and energetic workplace that is advertised. Other locations may be different, but not Barrie.

A typical day at work is mostly preparing before opening, there is a list and portion of what needs to be prepped. So many unsafe food practices. I was washing vegetables once and the manager told me to stop what I was doing because it wasn't needed. (fyi, not all vegetables we get come pre-washed)

This location is such a toxic environment. The manager is so unprofessional, bringing her boyfriend and family members in for free lunches on a weekly basis. The manager, assistant manager and other team member is all family-related which I'm not even sure if that is allowed. 

Certain team members have been caught in the back using weed when on the clock and when it was brought to the manager's attention, she did nothing. We had a list of daily duties everybody is assigned to, and she assigned everyone but her family members to do all the dirty work of the store.

Cleanup was one of the aspects, especially during close. The sinks would be overflowing as people don't clean throughout the day and it is just left for the closing crew. 

The manager don't really take the time to properly train new hires, they rush through everything and expect you to know everything on the second day. They berate you if you make mistakes when you're in the line of food.

Only good part of this job was the free meal for every shift but considering the food isn't up to standards, I didn't trust eating much here. Hours were alright, weekends I would get open-close hours which is nice when I needed money but it was very tiring.

Im so insanely happy that Im done working here, ive never hated a job so much. 
I love the concept of freshii and everything they advocate, but my main issue was with the management and the owners. Everything was SO uptight and strict. There was constantly someone watching the staff through cameras and if they noticed one little tiny thing wrong (like picking up your phone to change a song in the back) they would immediately email the manager and you'd be questioned. That made me very uncomfortable and stressed. Also, the manager continuously tried to overwork me and give me way more hours than i stated that i could work. I am a student and I am unable to work 30-36 hours a week. 
Not only that, but it was SO difficult to ever get any time off when i needed it. 
Also, the work schedule would never be sent out at a reasonable time, usually a day and a half to two days before, so that put me on edge especially trying to work around school.
Honestly just avoid this place. Its not a nice environment to work in, the management sucks, its very disorganized, and its highly strict and uptight.

Started very part time and grew to an Assistant manager role in just over a year. Old manager was amazing, super supportive and approachable, however the owner of my specific location is clueless. 

Poor pay, shift managers only make $13/hour while supervisors get $12 and everyone else is at $11.50 with very low chances of raises unless minimum wage goes up.

The company claims to be all about fresh healthy food, however is slowly turning a lot of products and ingredients into prepackaged and/or processed goods.

My daily customers are the best, and over my time there I have built strong relationships with most of them. Like any job theres difficult and mean guests but the good ones make it worth it.

My location is quite busy however many other locations are very quiet and struggle to find hours to give their staff so be wary of this if looking for a job here.

Owner at my location will pay employees out of his other location to avoid paying them overtime for hours worked, be warned and prepared to fight for your rights if needed.

I worked at the Ajax Location about a year and a half ago... It was one of the worst places I've ever worked at. The location had just recently opened up, so it was very nice and clean. Although the food was great and the location was convenient, it was such a bad experience for me. The atmosphere was just so toxic, and I felt management didn't trust their employees enough to let them do their job.
I just always felt incompetent and uncomfortable, like if I were to make a mistake I'd literally be afraid to say anything because of the response and attitude I'd get from the managers.
Management demanded so much from their employees and we were paid so little on top of the horrible hours. I was fortunate to be let go, I was better off without a job than to keep returning to one that affected my emotional and mental state. 
A couple of months after I was let go, I bumped into one of my co-workers and they shared how till that day the managers still spoke about me and mocked me. Once again, Thank God for getting me out of there.

I worked there for almost a year, but I had enough when I was having to clock out, but keep working to save on labor costs... Also the fact that if I call in sick I need to show a doctor's note the same day. If I'm sick I'm sick! I'm physically unable to leave my bed/bathroom. Because I couldn't show my doctor's note, they took away 75% of my tips for that month. I've never been sick before and I'm always on time. Having that as such a hard punishment for a first time offense was so harsh. 
I got free food so that was good and I liked the staff all and all. 
Customers where probably some of the worst people to deal with... Especially Sundays after church. So mean.
It was sad to leave, but I feel better mentally for leaving. 
If they improved on sick leaves and maybe seasonal hours, I'd probably work there again. 

I honestly love the place, but I also feel like I need to say something so changes could be made. I mean no offense to theses lovely people.

Management is amazing. They are extremely helpful and friendly, if you are ever unsure of something they are more than happy to show you and they truly want you to feel comfortable and enjoy your job. Everyone I work with is super kind and supportive, it's a very good culture. We all work as a team and communicate to make sure that all of our tasks get done and so that we know what the other team member has done/has left to do. Customers are also awesome 9/10 times, and are usually pretty understanding if we're busy and they have to wait. The hardest part of the job is busy times, when you have tons of orders. It's a bit stressful, especially when you have the combination of skip the dishes, app, and store orders, things can easily get mixed up if you aren't careful. And there are a LOT of dishes to do every night. The best part of the job is the people. I feel like it's one of the friendliest places I've ever worked, and I look forward to my shifts.

The very first thing I will say is my location was great at hiring the nicest people to work with. Kudos to you. 
Freshii was a standard food service job, so nothing too out of the box and crazy. Min-wage start, didn't stay long enough to warrant a raise so unsure if they did them. Perfect job for students or someone who wants to juggle two part time jobs. 

Reading other reviews I think I lucked out with my managers though. My only gripe was my colleagues and I had to put the pressure on management to get tips. Otherwise they were great. 

It wasn't very stressful at the location I worked at, but periodically you'd be by yourself and a large swarm of people would show up and complicate things. Especially bad when you needed to do prep. Closing was tedious but with the hours we had, we still had time to do things with our day. 

However the food was amazing, and felt good to make and even better to eat. 

the job itself was not difficult. especially when you start, it is just food prep and assembly. pretty easy. but unfortunately, the management at this location is basically the worst!! 
the other reviews are so correct in saying that they play favourites. they without a doubt do. usually teenage men who happen to agree with the owner because they don't know any better. 
look - if you need a job and are okay pandering to someone you don't really like - this job is okay. you will be treated okay enough to tolerate the work. they are very micro-managey so keep that in mind. however once you kinda get an idea about how they think it is very easy to predict what they will not like and change your behaviour accordingly. but honestly, it is kinda exhausting and overall i think that if you can't do that, and you don't already fit into the mold of what they like - not worth it. miss the people there though! #teambroccoli. 

Amongst the various health hazards and questionable food safety. 
The management had to be the worst, the training is 5mins of showing you where everything is and then being left to your own. 
Management is rude and unhelpful. She doesn't correct you and show you how it should be done, she just simply tells you you're not doing it right and says she'll do it. She promises full time, but only gives you one shift, or sends you Home/cancels the shift. 
She leaves early, leaving the store without management. She speaks poorly of employees to other employees. Has inappropriate conversations in the workplace. Does not handle confrontation or critism. Takes her frustrations out on staff.  
Cuts corners when prepping food/doesn't follow recipes. 
Don't try to discuss serious matters. She'll fire you.
I've had a few bad jobs.. But this had to be the worst and I wasn't even there for very long.
