Dinner service was fast paced which is usual among most banquet halls. Then clean up of tables was done at your own pace until a certain time. after the event has concluded, if you stayed for the late night position, you would be required to clean up remaining glasses, cutlery etc. stack chairs, remove centerpieces, sweep the floors, inspect the whole building for remaining cutlery napkins etc. Management was poor and unprofessional based on my experiences. Make sure you know employment rights, and entitled fees that is owed to the employee and request it!

Have learned to work together, as a team in order to make to night not just easy but a successful one.
Management was great, schedule were posted on time and uniforms were always clean and ready to wear.
Had some very good co-workings, we would get motivated before every event by having a meeting. Just to make sure everyone knew what there jobs were about.
The hardest part of the job is when the client is not happy.
The most enjoyable part of the job is going in the room as a team (same time) trays in the air.

i worked at Grand Olympia for a summer, i worked as a dishwasher. First of all i did not get a lot of hours, which was a problem for me. I really did not like the staff, it didnt seem like they treated you with respect nor were they kind. And the worst thing was that i was 100% sure they made a mistake on my pay but yet they did nothing to change, so after a few months of it i finally quit.

I learned how to serve and got use to a fast paced job and the place is very nice and beautiful and a typical day at work is setting up the hall hours before the event welcoming guest and showing them to their table asking for dietarys and allergies then serve to the customers then also clearing tables and when the guest leave cleaning the hall and have it ready for the next event.

tempers tended to flare under the pressure in the kitchen with big events, which could get loud from the surrounding environment. odorous from cooking food and from fresh used dish wear.

They treat staff like they own them, fired people for taking approved time off, cut peoples pays, the “accountant” can’t do simple math. They promised raises and promotions to senior staff members then gave it to staff members there for a month. Honestly the WORST owner of an establishment I’ve ever had to deal with. 

A typical day at Grand Olympia consists of firstly clocking in, setting up tables and beginning service. One thing I learned from Grand Olympia was working as a team makes everything much easier. Their arent any hards parts to this job, but if I had to choose one thing it would be clearing tables.

Grand olympia is an okay place to work, that is if youre not muslim.
While i have had a decent time working here and helping people out and whatnot, as a muslim it conflicts with my faith and belief system; this is my reason for wanting to look for another job.

Wouldn't find out when shift  ended until you worked and often had to stay until 2 am. Would only sometimes get breaks and pay would often be delayed. Managers are loud and rude, often screaming at other employees.  Would not recommend. 

Well organized facility, friendly staff, good hours, being able to work with friends from school was always the best part as it kept the job entertaining and kept you motivated as a worker
