Good for beginner RMT's because it will be busy.  the pay is unfair, it was constantly brought up to the higher-ups, but they were unwilling to negotiate.  Pay at other clinics, even on the same block were way better and more fair and exactly what we were told to expect in school. So PainPROs reason of "delivery of high quality care and treatments" means nothing.  All RMTs have the same training, so our treatments are all "high quality"    

Seriously high/quick turnover for reception mostly because of a lack of training, care for the receptionists and average pay for the hard fast paced tasks they were demanded to do. 

New RMTs are looked at as "inferior" because the ones that have been there long have seniority and are treated better. There is also a LOT of gossip and drama within the workspace.  it is easy to keep out of it, however. 

When patients disrespected us, we were told the management had our backs but instead the management let the patient get away with abusive (and racist) behavior and even let the patients return, at least I wasn't forced to work with that patient again. 

I enjoyed my time there because of the kinder patients and the fellow RMTs who were kind to me and that's it.  

the unfair pay compared to other clinics providing the same treatments in the same city (and surrounding cities) was the main reason that I decided to ultimately leave. 

It is unfortunate that this clinic has a reputation of treating their RMTs and reception staff unfairly. They also hire a lot of friends and family members to run all the behind the scenes things, which is fine if family member staff, friend staff and hired staff were treated the same, and also nepotism is not cool.  The owners/management are aware of the reputation but haven't done anything to address it, and the rumblings are that it is because they've lost sight of the real goal which is "patient care" and their new goal is expansion and money 

They just play it off as "business" and "fair pay" but honestly it isn't.

I hope this really opens their eyes and they become better because even without telling people where I used to work, I have people telling me they have a not so great reputation. 

also, all RMTs are self employed, but the company treated us like we were employees with no benefits. 

also, wanted to add that there were A LOT of changes to company policy while i was there and not once did management tell us, they just changed policy, like cancellation policy and "who to contact for specific questions" policy without letting us know, so when we would complain that the receptionist didn't collect payment on a late cancelled appointment, we were essentially told "too bad",  the company doesn't follow through and collect payment from patients on "missed appointments" and 
late cancellations" so a lot of the time we were just sitting there not making money because they would never enforce this policy"  When i would complain to the receptionist to please collect on the cancellation policy, the receptionists would tell me that management told them not to because they wanted the patients to keep coming back. So it made me feel like management cared more about "big picture" money than my individual pay check and also didn't care about the receptionists because the RMTs would be frustrated at the receptionists even though they were just doing what they were told, which was do not enforce cancellation policy and do not ruffle any feathers.  

When I would contact the "wrong" person about internal questions, I was reprimanded and spoken to about contacting the wrong person.  When I'd bring this up with a supervisor, the supervisor would empathize with my dilemmas because they didnt let the supervisor in on anything policy changes either. Just send the staff emails of changes or have more meetings with the staff so we know whats going on. 

Receptionist turnover is so high that the company regularly deals with temp agencies, which slows down their fast paced business model to fill the void instead of just take the time to train their staff. 

While I was there, I think i saw a reception switch over no less than 10 different receptionists, all who lacked training and asked me, the non-receptionist, for help because I was taught these skills in RMT school.

The initial job offer seemed to come out of nowhere - I remember having a brief over-the-phone interview before receiving a job offer via email. I was invited for training at the Head Office, which was very basic with minimal supervision. I actively remember being told to just "watch and complete the video" in regards to operating the software when I was asking a question to help better understand an aspect of it.

Once this was done and I began shadowing, the on-site training from the clinic manager was, at times, difficult to digest. Overwhelming and crammed in between running the clinics, training felt rushed and often without elaboration or clarity.

In all fairness, the clinic manager did have a lot of responsibility - but this lack of thorough training would lead to mistakes being made by both myself and other admin staff, for which the blame would then fall on us despite us not wholly understanding how to do certain tasks. 

The manager would give us stern talks about performance and claim they were having to cover for us to the management for, what they led us to believe, were our own mistakes - when in reality I was oftentimes left to maintain the clinic alone without any supervision or thorough training on various elements. 

I would receive phone calls on my days off from the clinic manager, ringing to detail mistakes I had made on previous shifts, feeling like I was being told off. These were never formal conversation and were almost always outside of working hours. This would give me anxiety not only on my days off but also at work, with threats that my job would be at risk if these mistakes continued.

I was, at times, asked to come in and cover last-minute, or told to come in an hour early, only an hour or two before my shift, with no explanation. I was generally made to feel incompetent in the role whilst also receiving the blame for any mistakes I made due to a lack of understanding as a result of improper training.

There were also periods where the clinic became extremely busy with only one person to answer calls whilst dealing with customers entering the clinic. We were also given warnings for missing any calls, even if it was a result of being busy with a customer in-person.

Generally, the working environment, if a little cramped, was warm and friendly. Staff members - managerial and registered professionals alike - were friendly, sociable and always helped where they could. The management and training, however, needs to be seriously reconsidered and administered in a more comprehensive and considerate manner.

I have worked with painPRO at their Coal Harbour location for the past 4 years.  I am amazed everyday by the quality of care painPRO provides.  All treatments are one-on-one and patients are NEVER left on machines with bells or a timer; all treatments are evidence based and therapists happily co-treat, humbly leaving each therapist to employ his/her strengths to provide the highest quality of care for the client.  I can't speak highly enough about my team.

The desk staff are just as fabulous as the therapists.  These individuals manage the clinic almost seamlessly, including ICBC claims, and not only allow the clinic to run smoothly, but also a happy place to be.

Prior to working at painPRO, I worked at a highly dysfunctional clinic and found painPRO to be such a breath of fresh air.  Management treat the therapists like family; they are always there to listen to any issues that arise and try their best to come to a satisfactory solution.  

Compensation is fair and opportunities to grow are available.

Of course, no clinic is perfect, there are definitely flaws.  I find my treatment room does not have great ventilation, leaving the room very hot in the winter when the heat is on, and without windows to open the patients as well as myself quickly get overheated.  I can't blame painPRO for this situation though, the building is older and simply needs to be... well, torn down. ;)  Management has done their best to resolve this issue, and in the end when the treatment room gets too hot, I crack the door and we are much more comfortable.

Overall, the pros definitely outweigh the cons.  painPRO is a fabulous place to work!

I have been working at painPRO for the past 4 years. In the past 4 years we have grown from a small size company to what I feel is a medium size company. I am proud of the progress we have made and the support we have been given to make our dreams come true. I have a better appreciation for the back end of a company and the dedication involved from each employee/staff/contractor to make this company successful. 

The most important people in our line of work are our patients and I feel they are receiving the highest quality of care at painPRO. Working amongst a team of individuals who you trust and can co-treat with is a top priority for me. I feel as though I have found this at painPRO and grateful to be part of such a team.

I've worked at PainPro with the owner/founder for 10+ years now and I don't have any plans to leave. As a new RMT in 2009, I was welcomed to the company and supported along the way to build my practice. I feel valued and love my supportive coworkers (practitioners and the administration team). The compensation structure is designed in a way to encourage practitioners to set treatment plans for patients in order to maximize their recovery within an ideal timeline, rather than taking a passive approach by not educating and informing patients when they should return for further treatment. It's a win-win situation where the practitioner builds their business and earns good compensation, and the patient's goals are achieved. We are also offered the opportunity to buy shares in the company. I'm happy to be here!

Good stepping stone in the clinical or administrative aspect, but they struggle with keeping front-end staff long term for this reason. There is little room for advancement in the company at a certain point, and they lack overall structure and guidelines. That said, it was a positive experience overall, and management was good at making you feel heard and was friendly enough. Due to lack of staffing, was stressful trying to take time off but if you're a favourite/senior they will try to help you out. 
Pay was competitive at first but they have not adjusted properly to keep up with inflation. You can make ends meet on full time salary, but it won't be luxurious

I have always enjoyed my time working at painPRO.  Management is supportive and seems to genuinely care about you.  The therapists are always great to work with, no matter what location.  I appreciate being given autonomy to do my work and not be micro-managed.  I know staffing can be difficult due to the front desk being an entry level position but I think we are well taken care of and supported when new staff are still training.  

I make a decent wage compared to other similar jobs and the benefits are also great (I had to work my way to F/T though, which seemed fair) 

The staff are great and the company was very supportive of my training and development needs. They have succession planning here so you can learn pretty much anything you want if you ask.

This is the first clinic I've worked at that truly strives for collaborative care rather than simply having all the disciplines under one roof.  Fantastic education opportunities with a busy schedule and more than competitive pay make for a fantastic workplace.  Most back-end work is taken care of for the practitioners by a great admin team.

I really enjoyed working with this company. However, I felt the need to find an employment elsewhere since I was promised full-time hours and when I was asked asked to leave my second place of employment, at the time, in order to get full time hours that I was promised, these hours were not given to me.
