The foremen, doing the bare minimum as they make it look like they are actually doing work while relentlessly criticizing employees
and telling them to work faster or else you're fired. When the employees work faster to get ahead of schedule, the foreman sends employees home because there isn't enough work to do and the workers end up losing an hour and a half pay due to the cheap foreman who only cares about money. 

When the job is going slow, foremen is constantly blaming the lack of progress on the employees working ability to the project manager, and you'll see some of your coworkers get fired, or sent to another site. 

Employees who have been there long enough, all seem to know the problem is management and the culture that is this company has promoted the real issues of favoritism leaving many good skilled workers unemployed after being poorly treated, while hiring a bunch of cheap labour (first year apprentices) and throwing them in situations where they cannot succeed and screaming at them to work faster where it's harder for them to learn how to do things correctly.
Foreman makes you do plugs on your knees for 11 months straight if you're a first year and doesn't allow you to sit on a bucket or a spool of wire because it "looks unprofessional" or "if you're in pain you'll work faster"

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
While working there it was not specific part while could be problematic, Sometimes you have to deal with customers those are not in their proper senses, but its not that big issue, we should know how to deal with any type of customer.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment is pretty good over there, all the time people coming there to have some fun at while playing at the poker table or casino machine, apart from bunch of the crew come over there to enjoy in the bar to spend their golden time by having some drink and listening music and dancing.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Typically I spend my day by focusing on my work. Although, in my break time I prefer to interact with my colleagues and sometimes with new people.

I have been working at Parq Vancouver since opening day. The job itself is not bad. Although we have to deal card all day and the customer is always angry for losing money, it is the management that is the worst. They will never protect the staff. They only care about money. They have no sympathy or empathy or understanding to any problems of the staff. If you call in sick more than 6 times in 1 year you will be blacklisted meaning you will be forced to provide doctor's notes or be written up and eventually suspended. The pay is very low for all of the stuff we deal with. It can be stressful as we are always taking the players money. The players get angry at us and the managers will not protect us. For an hourly pay of $13.20 per hour,  I would definitely not recommend to anyone.

Overworked and underpaid- If this is what you are looking for you have found it.  Very little respect from upper management or ownership and if you like to be screamed at by your boss look no further.  Just ask around, the industry is small.  Won't find many that will say the experience was good but you will find lots that hated it.  Should be easy enough to find someone that has quit, 100's have.  They allow very little creativity from their chefs and instead steal from other restaurants menu items.

Enjoyed the opening of the Victor at Parq, however I found after working there for 6 months that management was hard on a lot of people. They have high expectations which is fine but I found that I was not valued and was treated poorly. Tips were good on the bar, and most of the staff where great to work with. Staff discount is pitiful and wage is low for the expectations. Servers make a lot in tips.

Compared to the other casinos around, the place isn't that bad. Management can make weird decisions sometimes but the middle managements themselves are really nice. Base wage isn't that bad and tips makes it worth it. If you want to get good hours like daytime then you'll need to be with the company a good few years. 

I worked at Parq for several years. They have a habit of letting people go for 'No cause' when someone either doesn't personally like you, Or you get too high on the pay scale. This is not a place to depend on for a long time. AVOID THIS DUMP.

Managers does not want you to succeed or probably do better than them, so they don't train well and support your learning. Poor designation of daily tasks among the team (in kitchens to be exact). Not a very competitive place to work at, everyone is just doing bare minimum but you are expected to do way beyond what they do.

Well this place is messy. HR doesnt do anything and hard to get respond from them. I used to work in the kitchen and whole team is just like joke.. they play club music during service and cooking with long hair. Unhygienic people and poor management
