This company is fantastic if you're in management. Otherwise it gets worse all the way down. The management of my previous department was just atrocious — terrible direction, terrible people skills.

The advancement in this company is next to being absolutely stagnant. Forget about it. Which is weird because the management seems like conned their way to the top (considering having zero idea how to get anything done). I'm still baffled of the people I've worked for.

Do you like having a livable wage? Well unless you're management, do look elsewhere. Since you're advancing at the pace of an iceberg, so will your wage (don't worry tho, they'll cover inflation — barely). Be prepared to get a second job. 

Do you like growing as a person? Well good luck, you won't be doing much of that here. You will just be a cog in the industrial-like machine that is this place. You'd also think I'm exaggerating. Clock in, clock out. 

This place has a massive turnover issue. They take in college kids, leave them underpaid, fire or coerce them into leaving if they complain. It's like a wheel. And they mastered turning it. 

There is a family vibe though and free snacks/drinks. Which is great — but don't be fooled, that's part of the scheme. They hook you in with the Silicon Valley vibe, but it's anything but.

Disorganized, overworked, 11-12 hour average work days, camera always on during hours long of meetings..meetings never ending on time.. working till late evening almost everyday due to horrible culture
A typical day includes so many meetings with your camera on that you forget what you are supposed to do, if you move away from your desk , someone willa sk where did he go.. this is literally run by folks fresh out of university..
Meetings are way too long for he smallest of cases
Management thinks working long hours with your camera on is the industry normal.
Company is run by the ceo sons who create weird timelines for their deliverables..and dont have much industry experience.
The CTO just sits and agrees with them as he is an outsider and is scared of losing his job.
Culture is weird as most of them are fresh out of university , hey just keep quiet and work without raising any doubts fearing they will lose their employment.

The hardest part were the pointless calls till 8 -9 pm which is very tough if you have young kids .
Most enjoyable part will be when i get another offer to leave the place

Comes with the good and bad of being a family owned. If you are in the family (where ever they draw the line) you are set. 

This also means the management team are above being held accountable. I was on a very poorly managed team, we were lied to about salary and bonuses to meet goals and then told we weren't team players when we asked for the promised bonuses for meeting those goals to be kept. 

It's a family, so who can you complain too? no one. 

When things turned for the worse rather then dismiss us, management gave my team impossible goals (tripling individual productivity while taking on other teams responsibilities) and when we actually met these goals the bonuses were never given (again and again) until the entire team left within a year.

There are a few individuals who have a great thing going here but unless you are one of them you can't trust this company.  

They are extremely vindictive when it comes to following up on ex employees. Work here at your own risk.

This is an interesting tech with lots to learn. Score is going through tremendous growth pains and are unable to scale from a startup culture to mature org. There’s an unwritten rule of working extra hours. For senior devs, production incidents need to be solved by being on camera with the senior management the entire time and these things happen quite often. 

There are quite a few bosses in the company and rare leaders. They are unsure/ unaware of how to lead and are only good at supervising your work and telling you what not to do after the fact. They lack skills for leading, mentoring and most lack communication skills. It’s apparent with short sighted decision making and inability to plan beyond upcoming quarter.

Good starting place for fresh grads. Pay is really good. WLB is the exact opposite. 

Getting the job offer was a dream-come-true day for me, honestly, and I've loved my time at theScore. However, I took a notable paycut to do something I loved and sports media companies bank on a lot of people doing this these days. The culture is getting progressively better since I got hired but, still, work-life balance, pay structures, benefits packages, and upward mobility remain serious issues.

I worked at the The Score for two months, after which I was abruptly let go, with no given reason. I had recently approached my supervisor about my performance, since I thought I wasn't being given enough to do, and he assured me everything was fine.
Two weeks later I was called into an office with the HR Manager and a senior manager I had never dealt with before, and told I was being let go, effective immediately.
I would not recommend The Score to anyone seeking honesty in senior management, or the prospect of a secure job.

It has been a while since I worked there, but it was the best place to work. Everybody was on the same page. Everybody was striving to do the best job possible. The people I met at the Score will be friends for life and everyone I talk to that has moved on from the Score wishes to go back and find the magic that we had at the network.

Horrible place to work. The owner is all about money and doesn’t care what goes on in the store. The managers sit around in the office and talk all day. Half the time they are either “gone to get supplies” or call in sick with the stupidest reasons. If they can brain wash you, you stay, but if you speak up and say something isn’t right you are fired. They have gone through so many employees.

theScore is a great place to work. Unfortunately, the management team does their best to try to stop that. The EIC is an industry pariah. His director is toothless. Communication is non-existent. However, this caustic environment does create a sense of "in this together" among the staff.

Used to be a great place to work, but new management changed the entire culture of the company. Now there are layoffs and a lot of uncertainty regarding the future.

1. The people there really care about the work that they do

Cons:
1. No one outside of upper management really knows what direction they're taking the company in.
