UBreakIFix considers themselves a service before anything else. As an employee if you not empathetic then you probably won't like it much.

For me knowing my every action fixes someones day as well as device brought enough self satisfaction to keep at it. Its an everyday hero job so the hours are a bit longer but your co workers are always there to help take it in stride.

Here your exposed to a copious amounts of software and hardware repair techniques which are both the most beneficial and hardest part of the job as entering fresh and without bringing many outside creative methods will leave you with very limited time to get on equal footing.

They do provide a series of power point like tests to attempt to streamline new and existing employees up to speed. most of them come across as aggressive popup ads that go in through one ear and out as soon as you finish them as hard engraved skill comes from repetition exposure from device to device. 

My advice is become strong in hardware or software repair somewhere else then work you way here as there is very limited room for mistakes.

Worst management team I've ever seen, they will smile at you and call you bro and buddy but they have favourite employees and will never stand by you even if you're being wronged and bullied by other employees. 
-They all love drama and love talking about everyone's personal life. 
-They have Nest cameras installed on top of our heads connected to the owner's phones recording us & listening to our conversations all day. 
-Dental benefits is only for managers. 
-There is no overtime pay.  
-Work environment is not safe, when batteries explode on you you're still expected to show up at work the next day.
-Owners and managers always contradict each other about everything we should and shouldn't do, if you dare to speak up and clarify, one them gets his feelings hurt you will get you fired. Even if you were their best Tech.
-There is no drinkable water.
-You're expected to answer the phone, do all repairs, serve clients that walk in, clean up the store before leaving and still get treated like you're worthless. (not if you were their favourite though)

Got hired in June prior to initial store opening as a normal Repair Technician a month following applying to a Lead Repair Technician listing. Finished initial training and was looking forward to getting certified to get started on repairs but the position slowly moved into keeping the store operating and performing tasks management did not have time to get done (handling store inventory, contacting customers, updating work orders, sourcing parts for repairs, etc). Was let go in July for not meeting performance standards and not progressing in training to which I had not been receiving for some time. The store had one manager and two owners, of which one owner was very rarely present and the manager was romantically involved with store owner and this carried over to the workplace. Overall, I genuinely believe in this company, but was not a good workplace.

I couldn't give ubreakifix a good rating because of the location I worked at. The manager harboured a negative work environment and didn't make me feel welcome. I left because my manager had been peeing with the door open, saying bigoted things when I hadn't brought up anything related to the subject, and the way that my training was handled made me feel useless. I had 5 weeks of training (in which I felt ready to help out). My manager didn't want me doing repairs even though I had been in the store 5 weeks and had learned a lot about how things work. On top of all this the job pays just above minimum wage. I can understand why however with the training and requirements I don't think minimum wage is reasonable. The pay doesn't match the job even with bonuses. Honestly I'd rather not have the bonuses and just know I can get paid more each month garenteed.

They hire you for one specific spot and then ask you to do 100 thousand things that are not in your list of things to do, if you refuse you’ll get fired and if you ask for a raise because you’re doing more than what you were initially supposed to do they’ll just ignore it.
The organisation is the worst thing I’ve ever seen in a workplace, my store had no managers and the boss were never there once a month, they hire , they hired  they hired this guy that was super rude and agressive to the employees and the customers but wouldn’t let him go because he had experience and they needed someone, honestly the worst place I’ve ever worked. and don’t think of their employee
Around the place

The day-to-day is great. Whether it be working on repairing devices, speaking with customers, or simply working alongside your co-workers. You really learn a lot and develop a team-mentality. 

The biggest issue I had, however, was the pressure from corporate. The sales targets are impossible to hit, and many of the store metrics rely on customer traffic. There is little money spent on marketing, yet the pressure it put on the store to garner more customers. It is a very expensive service that we offer, and it is very difficult to treat it like a normal retail location. 

I learned a lot, made lifelong friends, but felt very used, abused, and cheated by corporate. 

If you are looking for false promises, double standards, and garbage pay with little to no increase then please apply. Expect to be offered to help out other stores for some basic pizza but not extra pay. If you want to work more than 40 hours and only get paid for 40 please apply here. If you want to have drama in your life every day, please apply here. If you want to be blamed for the incompetence of the owners, please apply here. With the owners and the employees keep your mouth closed on anything and everything that isn't work related, they will only use it against you.

If you enjoy working as a secretary, a technician, an assistant manager and janitor for a few dlars above minimum wage, then uBreakiFix is the company for you.

Training? Expect to do around 150 (not an exageration) online "training tests" which you can only do in between customers and repairs throughout the day.

To sum it up, uBreakiFix offers its employees nothing except for gaining experience. That's it. The moment you can find a better opportunity, take it. UBreakiFix takes advantage of its employees. 

Some practices and partnerships this company has make it very difficult for new startup locations to make money. The wage isn't high enough to justify working all the positions you're required to, from Sales Rep to Technition to Customer Service. The wage also leads directly to poor work / life balance. Luckily coworkers were great, hard working people. The device repair can be fun when not bogged down by bloated partnership requirements. 

Nothing good ever comes out of false promises: sadly the Quebec based stores are run by people who fake their motives to the employees they hire. Unpaid overtime, excessive demands, little to no personal time, long hours and incessant blunders from suppliers and owners often make for a very difficult work experience. The list goes on... Don't apply there unless you have no better alternative to a job.
