As a Trainer,Learning and Development, you will be responsible for providing training and coaching in the development of Disability Case Managers to enhance their case management skills. You will focus on taking Abilities Case Managers to the next level in terms of information analysis, synthesis and the development and implementation of outcomeoriented action plans leading to positive outcomes. You will work in partnership with the Operational Managers who have accountability for employee performance.
  • Train and support the development of Disability Case Management new hires and existing staff so that they are well prepared to meet both customer needs and business outcomes
  • Act as coach for new hires promoting the understanding and application of our Outcome Focused Health Management approach, including the utilization of our tools and methodologies
  • Support the application of Sun Life's philosophy, policy and procedures
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on new hire/learner progression, including providing direction on the key competencies that the new hire is performing well and where there are developmental opportunities
  • Through the coaching process, help assigned Abilities Case Managers achieve key performance indicators
  • Conducts file reviews to assess qualitative aspects of case management and provides coaching reviews focused on proactive skills
  • Work with Learning and Development Managers to identify and close any gaps on case management that surface through the process
  • Identify regional trends to my Manager and the Director of Learning and Development
  • Facilitate training sessions with regional operations on new initiatives, where appropriate
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Post-secondary education in health related field
  • Short Term/Long Term Disability Case Management experience and subject matter expertise
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Coaching and training experience
  • Facilitation and presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Proficient influence and negotiating skills
  • Bilingualism is an asset and a requirement for the Montreal office
