Don’t miss this opportunity with the Peel District School Board (PDSB) to leverage your knowledge of emerging technologies, trends and directions as part of our Learning Technology Support Services team.

Reporting to the Team Leader, SIS Development, you’ll be tasked with enhancing existing applications, troubleshooting, fixing bugs, creating web parts, and providing estimates for assigned work, while promoting and ensuring adherence to departmental standards for all phases of design and development. Your knowledge of both current and emerging technologies, as well as trends and direction in this field, will serve you well as a Programmer Analyst involved in analysing and proposing recommended solutions, analysing and estimating feasibility, time and compatibility with other programs, and ultimately ensuring that expected application performance levels are achieved.


As a Programmer Analyst, you’ll call upon your university degree or college diploma in Computer Science or an applicable IT-related field, and your 3 to 5 years’ experience with Oracle DBMS, SQL, PL/SQL, Internet Information Services, JavaScript, HTML, XML/XHTML, J2EE, Servlets/Applets, ASP, Acrobat Writer, and Oracle-Web interface. You will also put to good use the following strengths:

  • Experience with Oracle Forms and Reports
  • Demonstrated initiative and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills to deal effectively with Board personnel
  • Demonstrated commitment to working in a diverse school community and/or work environment.

Experience with the following would be an asset:

  • SIS software
  • Oracle Forms and Reports, PL/SQL Developer, Linux, Advanced Crystal Reports, TOAD
  • database design.
