Full job description

Join the Victoria Village team this summer! We are looking for someone interested in the human resources field to serve as our human resources assistant this summer.

Specific Responsibilities & Duties:

Auditing personnel files, including paperwork, certifications
Assist in the hiring and onboarding process for new employees
Transfer policies, documentation in to digital databases
Assist in employee relations discussions and relevant policy creation
Design the monthly digital HR newsletter and generate related content
Other projects as assigned by the HR department.

Requirements:

High school diploma; enrolment in a relevant University-level program (business administration, human resources, or related)
Microsoft Office knowledge
Data entry/analysis skills
Office/administrative experience preferred

This position is funded under the Canada Summer Jobs program, and to be eligible, youth must:

be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period;
be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
