Job description:
We are seeking a motivated Junior Commercial/Retail Flooring Sales Associate to join our sales team. This entry-level role will support commercial and retail sales activities, learn key trade skills, and assist with quoting, measurement, and customer service under the guidance of senior staff and the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with reading and interpreting commercial blueprints and learn to apply them to projects
- Support application of commercial contracts to project work
- Help measure job sites to ensure accurate material orders, with on-the-job training
- Prepare and deliver timely, accurate sales quotes (support from senior team members)
- Establish and maintain detailed customer files and records
- Provide general assistance within the sales department as required and participate in training to grow into greater responsibilities
Qualifications & Requirements
As a West-Can floor & Home employee, we require from you:
- 0–2 years’ experience in sales, customer service, or related roles (flooring/commercial sales experience is a plus but not required)
- Comfortable learning and working with ERP systems; previous ERP experience is an advantage but training will be provided
- Valid driver’s license
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel skills are a plus)
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks
- Good problem-solving ability and a commitment to meeting deadlines
- Flexible, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Professional, polite, customer-service oriented attitude and ability to work well in a team
