Job Description
We are looking for a LICENSED Registered Technician (Registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists) who is highly motivated and enjoys working in a busy, dynamic team environment. The successful candidate may participate in several roles: automated compliance machine checking, batch fill checking, inventory management, nursing home liaison .
Key responsibilities of a THP Registered Pharmacy Technician include:
- Checking retail prescriptions for dispensing accuracy
- Checking blister packs and Unit-Dose Pouches for dispensing accuracy
- Reviewing third party adjudications for proper pricing strategies
- Communicate regularly with patients/caregivers/nursing home staff via phone and e-mail and to relay required information to team members
- Data entry of patient care information in Kroll
- Accurate filling and checking of prescription medications
- Maintenance of pharmacy stock through inventory control systems,
- Appropriate referral to Pharmacist where required and necessary
- Preparing for Packaging of Synmed, PacMed, ScriptPro prepared blister packs, pouches and vials, and bulks.
- Narcotic inventory management and double-checking
- Preparing and checking compliance packages, MARs, etc.
- Act as dedicated liaison for "homes" operators/staff/patients under your responsibility
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Registered Pharmacy Technician an asset. Pharmacy Retail / Long-Term Care experience an asset.
- Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated customer service experience
- Proficient computer/data/entry skills
- Proficiency using Kroll software required.
- Proficiency operating Synmed or PacMed machines an asset.
