Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities. Experience with dental software such as Tracker, as well as familiarity with pediatrics, and medical terminology, will be highly valued. Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with safety protocols
- Assist the dentist during various pediatric procedures
- Take xrays using phospher plates, and scanning.
- Manage patient records using dental software such as Tracker
- Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions
- Handle administrative tasks including scheduling appointments and managing patient check-in/out processes as a dental receptionist when needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure infection control standards are met
- Support patients of all ages, including children in pediatric dentistry settings, ensuring comfort and understanding throughout their visit
Requirements
- Certification or experience in dental assisting is required; familiarity with CAD systems is a plus
- Knowledge of dental software platforms such as Tracker
- Must be able to navigate computer
- Experience working within pediatrics is advantageous
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dental care
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members in a professional manner
- Prior experience as a dental receptionist or in patient coordination is beneficial
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate record keeping and procedure support
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of patient care
Hours
Monday to Thursday - 7:30am to 4pm
Fridays - 7:30am to 2:30pm.
Mondays from June 1st to the end of September the office closes at 3pm.
