Operating Room Aide
The Operating Room Aide, reporting to the Service Coordinator of the Operating Room, is responsible for the activities required in supporting clinical care during and between patient cases in the operating room. This includes the appropriate room preparation/cleaning at the beginning and between patient cases, and the facilitation of the appropriate equipment and supplies. As well, this role includes materials management (stocking) activities.The role is a member of the interprofessional team.
Rate of Pay: $21.81 per hour - $22.76 per hour
Successful completion of a Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
Previous experience working in an Operating Room, Sterile Processing Department (SPD/CSR), and Acute Healthcare Delivery System is preferred
Basic computer and keyboarding skills: Windows Environment, Netscape/Internet, and Outlook
Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate effectively in English
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position

Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and show initiative

Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step)
