Duties
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately plan tile layouts and installations
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary adhesives or mortar for optimal tile adhesion
- Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently to cut, shape, and install tiles of various materials including ceramic, porcelain, stone, and glass
- Measure spaces precisely to ensure tiles are laid out correctly and aligned perfectly for aesthetic appeal and durability
- Perform related tasks such as caulking, grouting, sealing joints, and finishing edges to achieve a polished look
- Assist with other construction tasks such as carpentry, masonry, concrete finishing, plumbing, or electrical work as needed to support project completion
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while adhering to safety protocols at all times
Skills
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and construction estimating documents
- Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., trowels, chisels), power tools (e.g., saws, drills), and heavy equipment operation when necessary
- Strong background in construction experience with knowledge of masonry, concrete forming, restoration, or flooring installation
- Ability to perform precise tile laying with attention to detail for seamless finishes
- Familiarity with caulking techniques and construction painting for surface finishing touches
- Knowledge of plumbing systems or electrical experience is a plus for integrated installation projects
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt plans based on site conditions or unforeseen challenges
