Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our dental practice. This dual-role position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for patient care and administrative excellence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient support, managing front desk operations, and ensuring smooth office workflow. Experience with dental software and medical terminology is highly valued, and familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Dentrix and Epic will be advantageous. This role is essential in delivering a positive patient experience while maintaining efficient office operations.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in/check-out processes at the front desk
- Schedule appointments, confirm upcoming visits, and reschedule as needed using dental practice management software
- Handle multi-line phone systems professionally, directing calls appropriately
- Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records systems like Dentrix and Epic
- Assist dental team with chairside support during procedures when necessary
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments in compliance with safety protocols
- Collect payments, process insurance claims, and verify patient insurance information
- Maintain a clean, organized front desk area and ensure all office supplies are stocked
- Provide administrative support such as data entry, filing, and correspondence
Experience
- Prior experience as a dental receptionist or in a dental office setting is preferred
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is highly desirable
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Epic is a plus
- Strong office experience including handling multi-line phone systems and administrative tasks
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and healthcare documentation standards
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
