Bayview Group is a growing local Winnipeg construction company providing heavy construction services such as; road building, sewer and water, aggregate sales, concrete crushing, and municipal services to our communities. We are looking to expand our Utilities Division and are currently seeking experienced Foremen, Pipe Layers, and Pipe Layer Helpers.
Required Qualifications:
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a pipe layer for LDS, WWS & WM
· Knowledge and understanding of applicable codes and regulations
· Heavy Equipment Operating experience is an asset
· Experience working in close proximity to active Heavy Machinery is an asset
· Ground Disturbance Level 2, additional Safety Tickets and certification including First Aid and Fall Protection are assets
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs. comfortably. Must be able to walk and stand for long periods in addition to performing physical and labour tasks
· Strong focus on safety
· Highly motivated and proactive team member
· Punctual and reliable
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
· Install PVC and concrete pipes including fittings such as manholes, valves tees, hydrants etc.
· Setup and operate laser level and transit level
· Testing water lines
· Following client, industry and safety specifications and procedures
· Site, equipment and tool maintenance
· Material hauling, organizing and site cleanup.
· Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments
· Participate in and contribute to daily job site hazard assessments and weekly safety meetings.
· Other duties and labour tasks as requested
· Watermain breaks and repairs
