CNC Lathe Machinist – Setup & Operation
Our client is a well-established manufacturing company with over three decades of experience in precision machining. They specialize in producing high-quality metal components for a diverse range of industries, including automotive, defense, oil and gas, mining, and commercial applications.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking a an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to contribute to their fast-paced production environment. The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC lathes to ensure the production of precision parts according to strict specifications.

Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathes to manufacture precision metal parts based on blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Select, install, and adjust tooling, fixtures, and machine settings for optimal production efficiency.
- Conduct initial inspections of machined parts and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality standards.
- Monitor machining processes and troubleshoot issues to minimize errors and downtime.
- Interpret technical drawings and use precision measurement tools like micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Uphold strict safety and quality protocols throughout all stages of production.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and adhere to the company’s maintenance schedule.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience operating and setting up CNC lathes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use precision measurement instruments.
- Solid knowledge of machining principles, materials, and tooling techniques.
- Familiarity with G-code and CNC program editing is an asset.
- Experience working with tight tolerances in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Flexibility to work day and evening shifts as needed.
- Experience with Fanuc, Mazak, Haas, or similar CNC control systems is an asset.
