Days, and weekends including holidays will be required for scheduled events.
The Event Producer role, within the Business Development & Sales department, is responsible for the management, planning and implementation of special on site events created by the Assiniboine Park Conservancy. Successful candidates will have a proven track record in planning, managing and executing major events to create an extraordinary experience for everyone, every time.
Event Strategy & Planning
Plan and develop events from concept to completion, ensuring they operate efficiently and generate maximum revenue and exposure.
Ensure all details and services for events are completed and communicated using internal systems including budgets, tracking documents, reports, work back schedules etc.
Coordinate logistics of event details including but not limited being hands on with site/floor plans, décor, set up, tear down etc.
Revenue and Budget Management
Develop and manage specific event budget plans.
Oversee all spending to ensure fiscal responsibility; organize and reconcile project expenses in a timely fashion in accordance with company policies and expense management best practices.
Responsible for positive net revenue across multiple events meeting set goals.
Distribute event arrangements to inter-APC departments on a weekly basis and keep departments up to date of any changes.
Operate as the point of contact for any/all matters specific to events during the development, production and reconciliation phases of the project.
Provide constant, efficient communication between all parties, ensuring information regarding all projects are accurate.
Coordinate bookings within EventPro system including appropriate resources required.
Manage and negotiate all contracts with vendors, suppliers and musical talent.
Manage and develop key reports as required.

Completed post-secondary Degree or diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management or equivalent work experience may be considered.
Certified Special Events Professional designation an asset
Media relations training an asset
Minimum of five years’ experience managing a variety of event types, preferably with a background managing integrated projects
Experience managing a project team of two or more people
Experience managing and working with volunteers
Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in planning & execution of events
Extremely adept in software applications including MS Office, with working knowledge of project management software and event booking software
Strong creative, strategic, management, and organizational skills
Clarity in written and verbal communication, including the ability to create and make effective, persuasive presentations required
Extremely detail oriented, logical, and analytical
Ability to actively listen and ensure understanding
Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced, changing environment while remaining highly motivated
