- Conducting inspections to ensure adherence to the quality standards of our customers.
- Handling non-conformance reports (NCR), corrective action and preventative action (CAPA) documentation.
- Scanning material test reports (MTRs) for traceability verification.
- Monitoring and controlling calibration for all measurement devices and ensuring proper calibration is maintained.
- Perform and document in-house testing
- Applying lean principles to the manufacturing process to enhance quality and minimize waste.
- Adhering to the Quality Management program and promoting a culture of quality throughout the organization.
- Complying with our Safety program to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- You may be required to perform miscellaneous tasks as requested by your supervisor or manager to support team objectives and maintain operational efficiency.
- Developing safety, security, health, and environmental policies, standards, and programs; and emergency preparedness and ensuring business continuity systems are in place.
- Scheduling and coordinating Independent Quality Audits with the independent quality auditor.
- Performing regular shop safety and quality audits.
- Maintaining updated records via reporting systems for safety and quality training, near-miss reports, and other related policies and procedures
- Providing recommendations for improving safety in the workplace.
- Investigating accidents that occur on-site and identifying probable causes of the accidents.
- Create and implement safety plans while ensuring that they are being followed daily.
- Conduct safety observation reports regularly.
- Supporting health and safety activities alongside the progress on document status, monthly safety inspections, and compliance documentation completion.
- Attending safety walks and inspections to analyze safety risks.
- Educating employees on safety standards, expectations, and safe operations
- Understanding and communicating relevant Canadian and provincial regulations, relevant standards and emerging case law and ensuring continued awareness and application in prevention programs
- Providing leadership in the investigation of all quality and safety incidents and providing direction for the disposition of corrective actions
- Assisting with the implementation of control and monitoring measures related to safety and/or quality performance;
- Participating in the design and implementation of special programs to correct adverse safety or quality performance trends
- Providing safety and/or quality oversight and coaching during shutdowns and other site-based work programs
- Assisting the departmental Manager towards completion of prioritized quality, health, and safety action items
- Participating in the delivery of safety or quality training initiatives
- Identifying critical safety and/or quality awareness aspects for each work area and delivering training to employees;
- Ensuring the Manager has information required to produce reliable quality and/or safety metrics on a monthly basis
- Review, revise and solicit input to the Safety and/or Quality Management System as required
Experience:
- Familiarity with, and ability to interpret, standards/regulations/legislation/caselaw
- Understanding of ISO Compliance Programs, and Safety and/or Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures;
- Ability to work collaboratively with others to accomplish objectives
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Maintaining an accurate database and traceability of incidents/accidents and preparing periodic reports.
- Previous experience in organizing and leading the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
- Knowledge and skills to organize and lead safety awareness campaigns, prepare training materials, and deliver safety training.
- Understanding of safety KPIs and methods to prepare KPI reports.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
- OH&S Certificate or equivalent is required
- NCSO and/or CRSP certification or progress towards certification
- NACE Coating Inspector Level 2 or progress towards certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
