Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team. This role involves maintaining and enhancing outdoor landscapes, ensuring safety, and supporting the overall aesthetic appeal of various properties. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening, horticulture, and landscape maintenance, with the ability to operate a variety of mechanical and hand tools. Duties
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, planting, and pruning to keep grounds well-maintained and visually appealing.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators for landscaping and construction projects.
- Use hand tools and power tools for tasks such as digging, cutting, and shaping terrain or plant beds.
- Conduct routine inspections of grounds to identify issues related to drainage, soil health, or plant health, implementing necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Maintain safety standards by following proper procedures during equipment operation and landscape activities.
- Support general maintenance tasks including cleaning equipment and ensuring all tools are in good working condition.
Experience
- Prior experience in gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge related to operating machinery such as excavators is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with irrigation systems installation and repair is desirable.
- Construction experience or familiarity with building site preparation is a plus.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in landscaping or maintenance work.
- Knowledge of horticultural practices and plant care techniques is beneficial.
- Previous work involving outdoor maintenance or groundskeeping will be considered an asset.
This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to grounds care. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and possess the necessary skills to contribute effectively to landscape projects and maintenance operations. No tools or equipment is required and will be provided on site.
Pay: $19.50-$21.00 per hour
