Job Summary
The Rose and Thistle Flowers Shop is looking for an experienced Floral Design Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will craft beautiful floral arrangements for various occasions, assist customers with their floral needs, and contribute to the overall aesthetic of our retail environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for flowers, excellent customer service skills and experience in floral design.
Responsibilities
- Design and create custom floral arrangements for everyday occasions, weddings, sympathy tributes and special events
- Assist customers in person and over the phone in selecting flowers, plants, and related products to meet their needs and preferences
- Maintain the appearance and organization of the floral display area
- Handle cash transactions accurately through POS systems and perform cashiering duties
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and offering styling advice
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging displays to attract customer attention
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and high-quality service delivery
Qualifications
- Prior experience in floral design is required
- Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus
- Knowledge of POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail sales processes
- Familiarity with merchandising techniques and e-commerce platforms is advantageous
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Customer service experience with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to work well within a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers
- Passion for flowers, plants, and creative design solutions
