Design High-End Outdoor Spaces With a Team That Wants to Grow
V.I.L. Landscaping is looking for a talented part-time Landscape Architect or Senior Landscape Designer to help design elevated residential outdoor spaces throughout Oakville and surrounding areas.
We are looking for someone who can bring creative vision, technical understanding, and strong design presentation skills to projects ranging from $25,000 to $200,000.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys designing outdoor living spaces, wants flexibility, and is excited by the opportunity to help shape beautiful residential projects from concept to construction.
About the Role
You will help create high-quality 2D and 3D landscape designs for residential clients, including backyard transformations, front yard designs, patios, pools, outdoor kitchens, gardens, walkways, retaining walls, fire features, and full outdoor living spaces.
We are especially interested in someone who understands both design and buildability. The right person can create visually strong concepts while keeping construction details, flow, grading, drainage, materials, and client budget in mind.
BCIN is preferred, but not required. We are also open to experienced landscape designers or students currently studying landscape architecture, landscape design, architecture, or a related field, as long as they have strong design ability and a growth mindset.
What You’ll Work On
- High-end residential landscape designs
- 2D site plans and layout concepts
- 3D renderings and visual presentations
- Outdoor living spaces, pools, patios, planting plans, and hardscape layouts
- Design revisions based on client and team feedback
- Creative concepts that help clients clearly see the vision for their property
- Projects ranging from smaller $25,000 upgrades to full $200,000 outdoor transformations
Responsibilities
- Create professional 2D and 3D landscape designs
- Develop design concepts that are beautiful, functional, and realistic to build
- Work with the team to turn client ideas into clear visual plans
- Prepare designs that support sales presentations and project planning
- Revise drawings and renderings based on feedback
- Help improve the overall quality and consistency of our design process
- Stay organized with files, revisions, timelines, and project details
Ideal Candidate
- Landscape Architect, Senior Landscape Designer, or experienced design student
- Strong portfolio of residential outdoor design work
- Experience with 2D and 3D landscape design software
- Comfortable designing projects in the $25,000 to $200,000 range
- Strong understanding of outdoor space planning, materials, planting, hardscaping, grading, and design flow
- Creative, detail-oriented, and able to communicate ideas clearly
- Open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement
- Reliable, organized, and able to meet deadlines
- Growth mindset with a focus on personal and professional development
Preferred Experience
- BCIN or working toward BCIN
- Experience with SketchUp, AutoCAD, Dynascape, Lumion, Realtime Landscaping, or similar software
- Knowledge of Ontario residential landscape construction
- Experience with luxury residential landscapes, outdoor kitchens, pools, retaining walls, patios, and planting plans
- Ability to create designs that are both visually impressive and practical to build
