Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport goods across various routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and professionalism to ensure timely deliveries and excellent service. Candidates should possess a valid driver’s license and have experience with heavy lifting and driving large vehicles.
Duties
- Safely operate trucks to transport goods to designated locations according to schedule
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Load and unload cargo, often involving heavy lifting, ensuring proper handling and securement of items
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and delivery documentation
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Adhere to all safety standards to prevent accidents or injuries during transit
Experience
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the vehicle type
- Proven experience in driving large trucks or commercial vehicles, with a clean driving record
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when loading or unloading cargo
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and best practices for safe driving
- Prior experience in logistics or transportation is preferred but not mandatory for highly motivated candidates willing to learn
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with GPS devices or route planning tools
