About BrightCore Electrical
BrightCore Electrical works on high-end custom homes, select commercial projects, lighting control, automation, low-voltage systems, and complex electrical installations across the GTA.
We are looking for a licensed 309A electrician who takes pride in clean work, understands code compliance, can read drawings properly, and can work professionally with builders, site supervisors, consultants, homeowners, and other trades.
This is not a basic service-call position. Our projects require accuracy, accountability, strong communication, leadership, and the ability to think ahead.
About the Role
We are hiring a Licensed 309A Journeyman Electrician with strong experience in new construction, custom homes, service upgrades, panel work, lighting control, automation wiring, troubleshooting, and commercial electrical work.
The right candidate must be able to read blueprints, understand the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, plan the work, manage materials, communicate clearly with the office, and complete assigned work properly without constant supervision.
We are looking for an electrician who can take on a leadership role and run small to medium-sized jobs independently when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, layouts, schedules, and single-line diagrams.
- Perform rough-in, wiring, service installation, panel work, finishing, troubleshooting, repairs, adjustments, and deficiency completion.
- Install, troubleshoot, adjust, repair, or replace damaged electrical components.
- Install and work with 200A and 400A residential services, including overhead and underground services.
- Install wiring for lighting control, automation, low-voltage systems, cameras, security, network, speakers, and related devices.
- Work with systems such as Lutron, Control4, smart home wiring, LED lighting, LED profiles, drivers, and control panels.
- Lead small and medium-sized jobs, coordinate work on site, and communicate clearly with the BrightCore management team.
- Coordinate professionally with builders, site supervisors, other trades, and clients.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, ESA requirements, project drawings, and BrightCore standards.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and workplace safety guidelines.
- Prepare material take-offs and notify the office ahead of time when materials, information, or decisions are required.
- Provide clear daily updates, progress reports, photos, and issue reports when required.
- Complete work efficiently while maintaining quality and safety.
Required Qualifications
- Valid 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician Licence.
- Must clearly state the year your 309A licence was achieved.
- Minimum 5 years of experience after apprenticeship preferred.
- Strong experience in new construction custom homes and/or commercial electrical projects.
- Clear knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and ESA requirements.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical drawings, details, schedules, and specifications.
- Experience with new installations, troubleshooting, repairs, service upgrades, panels, rough-in, finishing, and deficiency work.
- Experience with low-voltage wiring and devices.
- Experience with lighting control and home automation systems such as Lutron and Control4 is a strong asset.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
- Own personal tools required.
- Valid Working at Heights certification.
- Valid WHMIS certification.
- Valid Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps certification.
- Strong time management and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, meet deadlines, and take ownership of assigned work.
- Strong communication skills with supervisors and management.
- Ability to provide daily reports and document work properly.

This role is not suitable for someone who cannot read drawings, cannot manage their own work, avoids responsibility, does not communicate properly, or requires constant supervision.
