We are currently seeking dedicated and professional Clinical Supervisors to support our PSW students during their clinical placements at Long-Term Care (LTC) facilities.
Position Overview
The PSW Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring and supporting students during their clinical practicum placements in Long-Term Care facilities located in Lancaster, Cornwall, Ontario region.
This role involves conducting on-site student visits, communicating with facility preceptors and students, evaluating student progress, and ensuring students are meeting clinical and professional expectations throughout their placement.
Compensation: $125 per student supervised.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a minimum of three (3) on-site visits per student during their clinical placement
- Monitor and evaluate student performance, professionalism, attendance, and competency development
- Maintain ongoing communication with students and facility preceptors
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and feedback to students during placement
- Complete required clinical supervision documentation and evaluations
- Sign and review students’ clinical passbooks/skills logs
- Address student concerns or placement-related issues professionally and promptly
- Ensure students are meeting program and placement expectations
- Represent the college professionally while maintaining positive relationships with LTC facilities
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be one of the following:
- Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing, OR
- Personal Support Worker (PSW) with a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience
- Previous experience working in Long-Term Care settings preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to mentor and support adult learners in clinical environments
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- Ability to travel to Lancaster, Cornwall and nearby region
