Drywall Estimator
Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Drywall Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates for drywall, steel stud, insulation, taping, plastering, and ceiling projects while providing excellent customer service throughout the bidding process.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for:
Steel stud framing
Drywall
Taping and plastering
Suspended and specialty ceilings
Perform quantity takeoffs using digital estimating software.
Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
Complete bid documents and tender submissions accurately and on time.
Communicate with clients regarding project scope, pricing, and quotations.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate project costing.
Maintain organized bid records and estimating documentation.
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients.
Provide exceptional customer service throughout the estimating process.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of drywall estimating experience preferred.
Experience estimating commercial and/or residential drywall projects.
Proficiency with PlanSwift or similar estimating software.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple estimates while meeting deadlines.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence with a clean driving abstract.
Preferred Skills
Experience with steel stud framing, drywall systems, ceilings, taping, and plastering.
Knowledge of construction estimating software and digital takeoff tools.
Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
