Job Summary
Lantic is currently looking for a refining process engineer for the Montreal plant. Under the responsibility of the plant manager, the incumbent must provide technical support for operations and maintenance and proactively identify process improvements that could be implemented at the Montreal refinery to reduce costs, improve efficiency and/or increase sugar recovery. In addition to ensuring continuous improvement in day-to-day operations, the incumbent will, with the assistance of the work team, develop and propose capital expenditures that would be required to support these improvements and provide project management. He will work closely with the team to manage performance indicators, such as melting rate and improved management indicators. It will support the maintenance sector: validate maintenance work priorities during planned outages in collaboration with supervisors, maintain work orders carried out by supervisors and act as technical support. It will also support the engineering sector: validation of concepts/development/timelines, provision of specific data (operation statistics) and proof of their validity with all stakeholders concerned.

Qualifications and Experiences Required

Knowledge required for the performance of duties:

Practical knowledge of manufacturing techniques

Education and professional experience:
Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in engineering (chemistry, mechanics or electrical is a considerable asset)
Member of the Order of Engineers
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
Expertise and factory manufacturing experience as well as familiar with continuous improvement concepts (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.)
Masteries AutoCAD or other design software
