The Opportunity:
We are looking for experienced and eager Sous Chef to join our young team of industry professionals.
The Responsibilities:

Work closely with Executive Corporate Chef + Head Chef on menu planning and development

Responsible for inventory management, period end, manage and code all BOH invoices; identify discrepancies with inventory or period end and take corrective action

Responsible for reporting any maintenance or equipment malfunctions and ensuring equipment gets serviced
- Controls prime costs in restaurants; works closely with Financial Controller to build BOH budget and ensures budget is met for food cost and labor
- Work closely with GM to update and maintain Food Syllabus

Responsible for upholding company values + standard of hospitality; ensures team does so as well
- Ensure team is prepared + set up for the evening + understands responsibilities; motives and supports team throughout service

Communicate specials, 86, etc. with FOH Manager and/or GM

Oversee the overall flow of kitchen + service; execute dinner service either cooking on a station or running the line as needed

Ensure food quality + timing meets restaurant standards

Responsible for keeping kitchen clean organized

Maintain a safe and positive culture for team

Develop + empower BOH team; responsible for training of all new and existing staff; assist Executive Chef with interviewing
- Responsible for disciplinary action + termination of BOH employees; communicate all formally written up incidence + all termination to HR

Responsible for all incident reports + WorksSafe BC claims; communicate all incidents to HR
-
Responsible for scheduling all BOH employees
Qualifications:
-
Have a passion for food and feed off the buzz of a busy restaurant.
- Culinary school diploma or equivalent professional experience.

Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
-
Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and evenings.
