Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. This role is essential in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests and ensuring smooth seating and reservation management. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and experience in customer service within a restaurant or hospitality setting. Prior experience with POS systems such as Micros is a plus. Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems like Micros
- Provide excellent guest services by answering questions and addressing needs promptly
- Maintain a clean and organized host station and waiting area
- Communicate effectively with the restaurant team regarding guest needs and seating arrangements
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information about the restaurant and reservations
- Support the serving staff by coordinating table assignments and guest flow
- Ensure adherence to hospitality standards, including proper phone etiquette and courteous communication
Experience
- Previous experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality is preferred
- Experience working in food service or restaurants is highly desirable
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or hotel front desk systems is a plus
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential
- Ability to provide excellent customer service with a friendly demeanor
- Experience handling phone inquiries professionally and efficiently is advantageous
- Prior hotel or restaurant experience will be considered an asset
