We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Project Controls Professional to join our Project
Controls Team within Capital Construction. The successful candidate will lead project controls activities from planning
through execution, including scheduling, progress measurement, performance reporting, forecasting, variance analysis,
field progress validation, contract and RFP requirements, change support, and project controls documentation.
This role is responsible for establishing, implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving project controls practices for
a diverse portfolio of capital construction projects. The successful candidate will work closely with construction managers,
project managers, contract managers, schedulers, engineers, contractors, suppliers, field teams, and other stakeholders to
provide accurate, timely, and practical project controls information that supports effective decision-making and successful
project delivery.
The duties and responsibilities of this position include:
- Lead the development, review, maintenance, and analysis of integrated construction schedules using industry-standard
software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Establish and maintain project controls processes that are appropriately scaled to each project’s complexity, delivery
model, risk profile, contract type, and construction environment.
- Review contractor and supplier schedules, including bid schedules, baseline schedules, progress updates and revised
schedules to assess logic, sequencing, critical path, assumptions, and alignment with project and contract requirements.
- Develop and review project controls and schedule requirements for RFP packages, contracts, and contractor deliverables.
- Act as a project controls and scheduling subject matter expert in the review of contractor and supplier bid submissions.
- Lead progress measurement and performance monitoring activities, including the review and analysis of construction
progress, quantities, labour hours, productivity, milestone status, and contractor performance data.
- Develop and maintain project controls reporting, including dashboards, S-curves, productivity reports, progress
summaries, forecast reports, variance analysis, Productivity Factor reporting, and key performance indicators.
- Apply project controls good practices, including Earned Value Management principles, forecasting, productivity tracking,
trend analysis, risk identification, variance analysis, and change management support.
- Align schedules, quantities, progress measurement methods, pay items, and contract requirements to support project
performance reporting, change management, and claims support.
- Maintain accurate and traceable project records, including schedules, assumptions, progress data, analysis, decisions,
and supporting documentation.
- Lead or support what-if scenarios, Time Impact Analysis schedules, recovery schedule options, delay analysis, extension
of time reviews, and other project controls analysis as required.
- Collaborate with construction, contracts, engineering, procurement, supply chain, project management, and field teams to
ensure project controls information is accurate, consistent, timely, and useful for decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement of project controls practices, templates, processes, reporting tools, lessons learned, and
standards within the Capital Construction team.
- Travel occasionally to construction sites, as required, to support field progress reviews, project coordination, and project
controls activities.
