Sundog Veggies is a training farm located on the traditional territories of the Ta’an Kwäch’än Council and the Kwanlin Dün First Nation. We are working together with youth and permaculture mentors to strengthen northern food security. Our goal is to help our trainees gain knowledge about farming with hands-on training.
In 2020 we had a great first harvest that we sold in local markets and donated to the Whitehorse Food Bank, our volunteers, and local Elders. We’re excited to start another amazing season working together with a community of young farmers in the Yukon.
Sundog Veggies is looking for young workers (age 16-30) to join us this coming season. We are looking for people who have an interest in strengthening northern food security and working outside. The job will include hands-on training in growing and processing vegetables, construction projects and many opportunities to learn from permaculture mentors and community partners.
Positions will be full-time (Mon-Fri, 9-5) for 16 weeks
Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
$20/hour depending on experience.
Farming experience is an asset but not required. Willing to train anyone who loves the outdoors, has physical stamina, and will work hard with a positive attitude.
Need safety work boots and transportation to job site located 20 min north of Whitehorse.
