Reporting to the Director, Business Development and Corporate Strategy, the Corporate Development Analyst is responsible for supporting UFA’s Corporate Development initiatives and projects. This role will be responsible for duties including research, analysis and preparing presentations on market intelligence, and financial models for growth projects. The role will also provide support on project due diligence and integration. They will receive mentorship and day to day reporting from the Corporate Development Manager roles and support these roles in their work streams.
- Conducts market research and analysis for UFA corporate development initiatives, including analyzing industry trends and evaluation of competitive landscapes.
- Develops and maintains complex financial forecast and valuation models for corporate development initiatives and strategic investments.
- Contributes to cross functional projects such as due diligence processes, project execution and integration for new corporate development initiatives.
- Contributes to the evaluation of capital projects, acquisitions and divestitures having strategic significance to UFA.
- Prepares information required for reports to the senior leadership team and Board of Directors to support the decision-making process.
- Works closely with Corporate Development Managers, and other team members to support various projects and initiatives.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- A bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics, Finance, or Accounting is required.
- Achievement of or in the late stage of pursuing an accompanying designation (CPA, CFA, CBV).
- 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- Background in the agribusiness or downstream petroleum industries would be considered an asset but not required.
- Proficient in use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI would be an asset.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication and listening skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to work both independently and in team environment under firm deadlines.
