With six branches that serve as the cornerstones to the community, connecting people to information and each other, we are excited to be on the brink of opening our seventh branch!

We are seeking dynamic, energetic individuals with excellent customer service and public library experience to be a part of the team in this new branch situated in Southfields Village.

The Opportunity (1 Full Time, 2 Part Time)

Reporting directly to the Branch Manager as a member of the Public Service Team, the Coordinator, Public Service provides a variety of public services including borrower services, reference assistance, readers’ advisory and user-support of library technologies and digital resources. The Coordinator is also responsible for creating a welcoming and inclusive library environment and acts as Person in Charge at the branch.

The successful candidates will be the library ambassadors in a newly created branch in a new and developing area within Caledon.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking individuals with training and knowledge in the above, typically acquired through the completion of a post-secondary diploma in Library Techniques. Our ideal candidates have a minimum one year library experience, preferable in a public library and 2 years in a customer-focused setting. We are seeking people with excellent communication and customer service skills as well as superior interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment and foster effective working relationships.

  • Fluency in speaking Punjabi, Hindi or Gujrati is considered an asset.
This position offers a salary range of $56,194.19 - $66,697.41.

Satisfactory passing of a vulnerable sector check, and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for this position.
