In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining underground piping systems with precision and safety. Your expertise will help ensure the reliable delivery of essential utilities such as water, gas, and electrical conduits. Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy machinery including excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and bucket loaders to excavate trenches and prepare sites for pipe installation.
- Lay, connect, and secure underground pipes using hand tools, power tools, rigging techniques, and welding equipment.
- Assist with the setup and operation of low voltage electrical systems related to piping infrastructure.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and rigging gear to ensure optimal safety and performance.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with piping systems or equipment during installation or repairs.
- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation, welding, electrical work, and working around low voltage systems.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment including excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and bucket loaders.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively.
- Experience with rigging techniques necessary for lifting and positioning pipes or equipment.
- Electrical experience or familiarity with low voltage systems is a plus.
- Ability to perform welding tasks safely and accurately.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy machinery operation, welding, electrical work, and working in construction environments.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
