Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Safety Officer to oversee and enforce safety protocols across construction sites. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with safety regulations, promote a culture of safety, and minimize risks associated with construction activities. This role requires a proactive approach to hazard identification and risk management, contributing to the successful and safe completion of projects. The Construction Safety Officer will collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, and workers to maintain a safe working environment.
Duties
- Conduct regular safety inspections of construction sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety standards.
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures tailored to each project’s specific needs.
- Provide safety training sessions for new and existing workers, emphasizing best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, or near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with construction management to plan safe work practices during all phases of construction projects.
- Utilize construction management software to track safety metrics, report incidents, and manage documentation efficiently.
- Stay updated on industry safety regulations and best practices to continuously improve site safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction safety management or a related role within the construction industry.
- Knowledge of OH&S regulations and other relevant safety standards applicable to construction sites.
- Familiarity with construction management software for recordkeeping and reporting purposes.
- Strong communication skills to effectively train workers and liaise with project teams.
- Ability to identify hazards proactively and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Certification in Construction Safety or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
