Job Summary
As our Shipper/Receiver, you will be at the heart of our operations, overseeing all shipments and managing vendor relations to guarantee an accurate and timely flow of goods. Your work is essential for maintaining inventory integrity and driving our company's overall efficiency.
Qualifications
- Minimum education: College diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in shipping and receiving
- Experience with ERP and/or WMS
- Forklift experience (license)
- Mechanical aptitude (handy man)
- Ability to bend, lift, stand for extended periods
- Ability to commute
- Ability to work 40 hour work week on-site
Job description and responsibilities
- Prepare, package, and label items for shipment according to company standards. This includes bills of lading, manifests, and scheduling pick-ups
- Coordinate priorities with customer service team
- Print orders or receipts that require preparation
- Prepare orders respecting delivery logic (package size, distribution of loads, attention to fragile material and order of delivery)
- Prepare courier packages for small items
- Receive all incoming deliveries, carefully inspect packages for damage and verify contents against purchase orders or packing slips. Any discrepancies or damages must be accurately documented
- Unpack received goods and stock them in designated areas utilizing ERP system
- Update all orders and receipts in ERP for accurate tracking and inventory control
- Validate all orders with tracking information from carriers
- Operator forklifts and cherry picker with caution and accuracy
- Daily inspection of forklifts to ensure proper working order, report any issues and contact for service if necessary
- Maintain order and cleanliness of the warehouse
- Participate in inventory checks and full inventory audit
- Participate in organization of promotional and corporate events
- Comply with safety procedures and company standards
- Other duties as assigned
Essential Skills
- Experience: 3 to 5 years previous experience in shipping/receiving and warehouse
- Physical Fitness: the ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks is essential
- Attention to Detail: meticulous accuracy and attention is required for verifying shipments, counting inventory, and completing paperwork
- Certifications: A valid forklift operator certification
- Teamwork: great collaboration, work positively with co-workers, positive attitude
Technical Knowledge
- Computer skills necessary for using shipping software, email and chat
- Understanding of ERP systems
- Ability to learn company products and services quickly
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
