Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled AZ Dump Trailer Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting materials to and from job sites while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the dump truck. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, commercial driving regulations, and a commitment to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks to transport materials such as gravel, sand, and asphalt to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
- Load and unload materials safely, ensuring proper weight distribution for optimal handling.
- Maintain accurate records of materials transported and delivery schedules.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site managers regarding delivery status and any issues encountered on the road.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on the truck, including checking fluid levels and tire pressure.
- Assist with loading/unloading operations using forklifts or other equipment as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with dump trucks or similar heavy vehicles.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is preferred.
- Experience in automotive repair is a plus, demonstrating an understanding of vehicle maintenance needs.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely is advantageous for loading and unloading tasks.
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations related to transportation.
