Mission

CIMA+ is currently seeking a Credit and Collection Advisor to join our Finance team, working out of Laval. The selected candidate will have an opportunity to make a significant contribution commensurate with their experience.

Responsibilities

Ensure that outstanding client accounts are collected in accordance with the established terms and payment conditions
Assume responsibility for overdue accounts in excess of 90 days and, working in cooperation with the Manager, implement an action plan for collection
Review outstanding accounts using collection tools, communicate with clients to determine the causes of late payment and ensure that computer files are clearly documented
Send letters to clients to encourage payment for outstanding accounts
Communicate with Project Managers to follow up on recovery efforts related to their respective accounts
Monitor client accounts for tendencies and warning signs, and communicate with them directly, as required
Manage weekly reports related to the age of client accounts and collection efforts, and ensure that the information is accurate and up to date
Evaluate the risk of collection and bad debts
Maintain dialogue with the company’s legal advisors in order to obtain clarifications related to legal and contractual obligations
Act as operational liaison among project accountants
Work closely with the billing team to ensure that all payments received from clients are recorded in a timely and accurate manner
Understand and apply the credit policy

Profile

Minimum of 5 years of experience in collection
Bachelor degree or DCS in Administration, or equivalent
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Perfect mastery of French and English (oral and written)
Familiarity with Great Plains (Dynamics) software is an asset
