Local School Cafeteria- Monday to Friday 9:00 am-1:00 pm. Ideal for stay at home parents as our work schedule aligns with the school schedule or semi retired looking to retire but still keep active in the community.
We are looking for a friendly and reliable Food Prep/Cashier to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a lively food service environment, helping with food preparation and providing excellent customer service. Cash experience also beneficial. If you’re organized, detail-oriented,quick and passionate about the food industry, this position offers a great opportunity to develop your skills while being part of a dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare food items according to established recipes and safety standards, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Operate the POS system to handle customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Manage cash handling responsibilities with honesty and attention to detail.
- Provide friendly and attentive customer service, answering questions about menu items and specials.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Assist in upselling menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure quick service and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, cashiering, or food service is preferred but not mandatory.
- must have a clean police record
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience working in restaurants or the food industry is advantageous but not required; willingness to learn is key.
