Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Truck Shop Foreman to oversee and coordinate the day-to-day activities of a busy heavy-duty truck service shop in Saint John. The successful candidate will provide leadership to technicians, coordinate repair work, monitor job progress, and help ensure work is completed efficiently, accurately, and safely.
The ideal candidate will have automotive or heavy-duty experience, strong leadership abilities, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to quality and customer service. Experience as a Truck and Transport Red Seal Technician is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
· Coordinate Service work in order of appointment and priority
· Provide estimates in a timely and accurate manner
· Communicate service work scope to technicians to ensure customer expectations are met
· Assist Service Advisors in their scheduling duties by monitoring workload and maximizing bay utilization
· Monitor repair progress against estimates and update Service Advisors & customer with any changes
· Ensure warranty conditions are met
· Quality check completed Repair Orders (RO)
· Coach technicians on work order tracking and related system functions
· Ensure that the system accurately reflects technician time
· Minimize unbilled labour through diligent work scheduling and planning
· Adhere to and enforce company safety policies
· Ensure shop is cleaned after each jobs
· Monitor shop equipment
· Perform technician evaluations
· When required fill in for Service Advisor
Requirements
· Automotive or heavy-duty experience is required
· Ability to work day or night shifts
· Truck and Transport Red Seal certification is preferred
· Relevant post-secondary education and/or equivalent industry experience
· Previous leadership, supervisory, or shop coordination experience is an asset
· Strong mechanical and technical knowledge
· Excellent organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
· Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Comfortable using computers and shop management systems
· Microsoft Excel experience is required
· Strong commitment to quality, safety, and customer service
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Pay: Up to $70,000.00 per year
