Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook Helper to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals interested in the food industry who want to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The Cook Helper will assist with food preparation, cooking, and food service operations, ensuring smooth daily kitchen functions. Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is a plus but not required; a strong interest in food handling and safety is essential. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and contribute to creating delicious meals for our residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients
- Support cooking activities under the supervision of our cook
- Help with food plating and presentation to ensure appealing dishes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations and utensils
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met
- Assist in serving meals to residents as needed
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and sanitation practices during all tasks
- Support inventory management by restocking supplies and ingredients as required
Skills
- Experience or familiarity with serving, food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food handling and safety protocols within the food industry
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong attention to detail in meal preparation and food safety practices
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork in a restaurant setting
- Basic understanding of food service operations and meal presentation
- Willingness to learn new culinary skills and techniques
- Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is advantageous but not mandatory; a passion for the food industry is essential
