About The Practice
Dr. Femida Kherani is a renowned oculoplastic surgeon specializing in reconstructive eyelid surgery, orbital surgery, lacrimal surgery, and cosmetic facial rejuvenation. Our physician-led practice is committed to delivering exceptional surgical outcomes, compassionate patient care, and an outstanding patient experience.
While our foundation is a busy specialty medical and surgical practice, we are also growing our cosmetic services, including cosmetic blepharoplasty, facial rejuvenation procedures, and injectables. We are seeking an experienced Practice Director who is excited by the opportunity to help support both aspects of the practice while contributing to its continued growth..
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to Dr. Kherani, the Practice Director is the operational leader of the practice, responsible for overseeing clinic operations, staff leadership, physician support, patient experience, financial administration, and regulatory compliance.
This is not a traditional medical office manager position. We are seeking a proactive leader who combines strong medical practice management expertise with an understanding of cosmetic medicine and private-pay healthcare. The successful candidate will help optimize day-to-day operations while supporting the continued growth of the practice's cosmetic services.
Medical & Surgical Practice Operations
- Lead the day-to-day operations of a busy specialty medical and surgical practice.
- Oversee physician scheduling, clinic flow, integration of associate and locum physicians and resource utilization.
- Coordinate hospital operating room bookings, surgical scheduling, waitlists, and procedural logistics.
- Oversee MSP billing, third-party billing, reconciliation, and financial administration.
- Ensure compliance with College requirements, privacy legislation, accreditation standards, and clinic policies.
- Develop and improve operational systems, workflows, and administrative processes to enhance efficiency and patient care.
Staff Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop administrative and clinical support staff.
- Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching conversations.
- Manage staffing schedules, payroll coordination, and workforce planning.
- Support employee engagement and professional development.
Cosmetic Services Growth & Patient Experience
- Lead initiatives to grow cosmetic services, patient acquisition, and practice revenue.
- Develop and optimize the cosmetic patient journey from inquiry through follow-up.
- Monitor cosmetic KPIs and implement strategies to improve consultation conversion and patient satisfaction.
- Develop patient communication and education initiatives to enhance the patient experience.
- Strengthen referral relationships and collaboration with Heights Laser Centre to support practice growth.
Financial Management & Business Performance
- Monitor operational and financial performance indicators.
- Assist with budgeting, expense management, inventory oversight, and vendor management.
- Track key operational and cosmetic performance metrics and recommend opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare regular operational reports and provide recommendations that support practice efficiency and sustainable growth.
Who Will Thrive in This Role?
You are an experienced practice leader who enjoys creating organized, efficient, patient-centred operations while identifying opportunities to grow the practice and improve business performance. You understand the unique demands of a specialty medical and surgical practice and the distinct operational and patient experience requirements of a private-pay cosmetic practice.
You are equally comfortable supporting physicians, leading high-performing teams, coordinating complex surgical operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, improving systems, and using data to drive operational excellence and strategic growth. Highly organized, accountable, and financially astute, you proactively identify opportunities, influence business decisions, and take ownership of initiatives that enhance the patient experience, strengthen practice performance, and contribute to the continued growth and long-term success of a respected physician-led practice.
