Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals in need of support in their daily lives. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols
- Support clients with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met and dietary restrictions are followed
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental health and reduce feelings of isolation
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment
- Monitor clients’ health status, report changes or concerns to healthcare professionals promptly
- Assist with mobility and transfers using proper techniques to ensure safety for both client and caregiver
Skills
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly valued
- Strong background in senior care and supporting individuals with disabilities or dementia
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with patience, compassion, and active listening abilities
- Ability to perform light cleaning and meal preparation efficiently
- Familiarity with home care practices and maintaining a clean, safe environment
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with healthcare teams, clients, and family members
