We are presently recruiting for an Analyst within the Investment Operations – Trade Operations team reporting to an Associate, Trade Operations. The Investment Operations department ensures that trading activity, security settlement, and asset servicing for Public Market investments and Derivative Products is managed in an effective and efficient manner.
The ideal candidate for this exceptional career opportunity is a self-starter with excellent analytical skills, organization skills, written and verbal communication skills and prior knowledge of settlement and custodial procedures in Canadian and international marketplaces.
Ensure trade capture standards and deadlines are met while maintaining a high level of accuracy and customer service to internal and external clients
Provide oversight and assistance for the failing/failed trade process and resolve settlement issues with traders, counterparties and custodians throughout the day and during the end-of-trading day process.
Ensure position and trading details are accurate across various systems (Trading / Accounting / Treasury) throughout the day keeping in mind critical deadlines.
Support and ensure appropriate controls and processes are in place to ensure overall department compliance and to maintain the operating model.
Assist the team with daily operations as necessary; investigate issues and ensure they are promptly resolved and appropriately escalated
Ensure timely completion and accuracy of various reports and reconciliations relating to trade activity
Build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external parties
Continually strive for operational excellence; seek ways to streamline processes and create operational efficiencies
Some shift work under domestic and international hours may be required
Other duties and special project work as required
If you possess the following, we’d like to hear from you:
Relevant university degree such as Business, Economics, Finance, and Commerce or other related discipline.
1-3 years of experience in trade settlements/operations – experience in Foreign and emerging markets is considered an asset.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to think through problems, assess a variety of factors, and recommend solutions.
Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Visio); Reuters, Omgeo, SWIFT, Murex, SimCorp or Bloomberg AIM would be considered an asset.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and a high degree of professionalism combined with the ability to readily adapt to rapidly changing investment business and technology environments.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated experience building and retaining solid working relationships internally and externally.
Team player who enjoys a high-performance culture.
Comfortable and flexible with constantly evolving and changing priorities and open to new challenges.
