Summary
The Booking Clerk is responsible for managing and maintaining all aspects of booking loads. This position is also responsible for pricing and ensuring profitability of loads.

Job Duties
- Facilitate the creation of shipments/loads for clients
- Secure competitive pricing on spot and lane/program transactions
- Manage profitability and margins of loads
- Communicate updates to clients related with new loads
- Manage load documents
- Maintain various spreadsheets
- Complete carrier packets and upload all information in the system
- Answer client phone calls and emails
Requirements
- Ideally 1 year booking experience with a Transportation Company
- High school Diploma or equivalent
- Exceptional computer skills
- A self-starter with a high degree of initiative
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization as well as with individuals outside the organization
- Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent writing skills, including proper spelling and grammar
- Able to deal with people sensitively, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail
- Ability to adapt to and learn new software
- Excellent time management skills
- Attention to detail in all areas of work
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedure
- Professional appearance and manners
