RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review production schedule to determine required tooling, and schedule best available tooling,
- Inspect tooling for defects or damage prior to installing; repair damaged parts within scope of knowledge and capabilities,
- Deliver parts to Maintenance Departments for repairs that are too complex or outside scope of Tool Keeper/Changeover role,
- Connect tooling and test operations of mechanical and electrical connections,
- Ensure removal and/or set up of tooling; ensure tooling is cleaned from previous run (store at staging area to cool),
- Maintain tooling and parts inventory, using FIFO method for use of materials,
- Trouble shoot relevant Tooling concerns/issues; analyze machine and process problems,
- Implement/suggest solutions in a timely manner to minimize downtime or scrap,
- Record and document necessary information that is relevant to role; generate reports as required by Supervisor and/or Plant Manager,
- Actively participate in all Health & Safety training and promote a safe work environment,
- Demonstrate a passion for teamwork and learning in all interactions with other employees; assist in training others,
- Participate in all LEAN and 5-S activities as it pertains to the position and job location,
- Conduct all work according to Infra Pipe Solutions Ltd procedures, policies and standards,
- Other duties/tasks as determined by the manager.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- 2 - 5 years previous Tool Keeper/Change Over experience in a manufacturing/production environment,
- Strong proven mechanical aptitude,
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision (self-starter) and as part of a team,
- The ability to develop strong and effective working relationships at all levels of the facility,
- Knowledge of 5-S and LEAN Manufacturing,
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office.
This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. The Tool Keeper/Change Over will play a crucial role in ensuring that tools are readily available, properly maintained, and in good working condition.
