Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our organization. This role is responsible for coordinating dispatch activities, maintain clear communication with customers and drivers and supporting safe, efficient freight movement in a fast-paced environment. This role will interact with customers and respond to all inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner. The dispatcher will work in conjunction with the rest of the dispatch team as well as with other departments in the organization.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and service excellence across all operational activities.
- Serve as the primary liaison between customers and drivers.
- Plan and manage employee and Owner Operator schedules to meet service commitments.
- Coordinate equipment to meet daily operational requirements and work closely with fleet maintenance to address equipment deficiencies.
- Monitor driver and Owner Operator activities to support safe and efficient daily operations.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the TMW System, PeopleNet satellite tracking, and other applicable applications.
- Enter all ACE and ACI manifests based on dispatch planning and driver confirmations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Liquid tanker experience
- Experience with petroleum products
- Strong geographical knowledge of GTA logistics
- Knowledgeable about Hours-of-Service regulations
- Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Highly organized with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to understand and interpret instructions
- Computer skills (TMW System experience an asset)
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma (minimum)
- Post-secondary education in Dispatch/Logistics (or equivalent work experience)
- 3-5 years of experience
Pay: $70,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
